Project Name: San Antonio Oxbow Bluffs Open Space
Client: City of Albuquerque
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Year: 2021-2025

The Anthropopulus team recently completed construction documents and an interpretive plan for improvements that will balance access and conservation at the once-named Poole Property, adjacent to one of Albuquerque’s most treasured ecological resources. This property represents the power of community to make positive change, as community activists were central to the City’s purchase, preservation, and interpretation of this much-loved open space. Multiple conceptual options were developed with a high level of community involvement, including walking tours and in-person survey installations at multiple Open Space facilities. The design includes trails, interpretive signage, an outdoor classroom, and several low-impact development installations to address erosion and increase stormwater retention on site. Construction broke ground in summer of 2025. Visit the project website.
