Project Name: Corrales Interior Drain Master Plan
Client: Village of Corrales
Location: Corrales, NM
Year: 2024-2025

Through a joint powers agreement with the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, the Village of Corrales has gained the ability to utilize and maintain the area around the 2-mile long Interior Drain — a drainage facility that no longer functions as intended due to a low water table. The Anthropopulus team is building on the work of the Village’s Interior Drain Committee, conducting additional community engagement and developing a master plan to re-envision the drain for safe, enjoyable, and essential public use while maintaining tranquility for adjacent residents. An online survey, paired with on-site activities like group tours and hayrides, community meetings, and participation in community events, helped to inform the plan, which will include a multi-use path, traffic calming measures, habitat restoration, and green stormwater infrastructure.
