Project Name: Asian Pacific Islander Native Hawaiian (APINH) Center
Client: City of Albuquerque
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Year: 2023-2025

The Asian Pacific Islander Native Hawaiian (APINH) population is the fastest growing population group in the state and the second fastest growing in Bernalillo County during the last ten years. This growth highlights the social, economic, and cultural contribution the APINH community brings to the State and to Bernalillo County and points to the needs behind the APINH community’s efforts to create a space they can call their own. Anthropopulus has been working closely with community members and City Council Services to lead this visioning effort that has resulted in an architectural program and capacity to create a nonprofit to manage the center. Current efforts include searching for a project site and supporting nonprofit organizational development, while continuing to engage with APINH communities in Albuquerque.
