The NCNMEDD Brownfields Inventory helped rural communities identify and prioritize abandoned, vacant, underutilized, and deteriorated properties for future assessment and redevelopment. Working with the NMED Brownfields program, Anthropopulus helped build relationships, increase awareness of available resources, and connect priority properties with funding and technical assistance. As a result, four properties received more than $454,800 for environmental assessment, reuse planning, and remediation. The inventory created a practical pathway for moving properties from uncertainty toward cleanup, reinvestment, and productive use.
